Stan Lee is coming to the Philippines... and tips how to prepare for it

I attended last night's Comic Con Asia 2018 Press Launch Event as part of the FACEBOOK group DC Universe PH along with my co-admins. And the cat is finally out from the bag. The organizers finally revealed that Marvel Comics legendary writer Stan Lee is coming to the Philippines. This was greeted loudly by the awaiting audiences during last night's event as this seems to be basically THE highlight of Comic Con Asia 2018! While the skeptics continue to hold their breath until Stan's actual arrival in our shores, here are some of my tips on how to prepare for his arrival and amidst the rumor of exorbitant price for the meet and greet session, how to save up to be able to afford his rumored P10,000 meet and greet fee.

1.) Unfollow or stay away from your usual Facebook buy and sell groups. This will help you save up tons of money. Believe me!

2.) Stay away from GREENHILLS or TOY STORES around the metro. At this point, they don't exist. And we don't need them.

3.) Manage your comic book weekly pulls. I know there are a lot of great titles out, but if you really don't need the other titles, then don't buy it. Don't let the hype get to you.

4.) Start selling out stuffs you don't need in your collection. Others might be needing it more than they need to avail Stan Lee's meet and greet.

5.) You'd have to start rounding up this Stan Lee items though, so if you still don't have one, start looking for one now. COMIC ODYSSEY GALLERIA is on SALE on comic books at P25 each until the end of February. Better head on there fast!

6.) Start taking additional part time jobs. You'll need all the moolah that you can if you wanna meet and greet Stan Lee.

7.) Valentine's Day is coming up. You might want to skip that Valentine's Date with your special someone AT YOUR OWN RISK!

8.) On the other hand, that special someone might want to meet Stan Lee also. So you guys could help each other out in raising the funds.

9.) Though this is mostly a joke, but seriously, DON'T SELL YOUR KIDNEYS! A family member might need it in the future.

10.) Do however start on a diet. We've got pounds to shed after the Christmas eat fest season. The much joke around crackers diet might be advisable. But a cheaper, healthier alternative should be Uni-Pak Sardines or perhaps their Uni-Pak Mackerel variants. And only this brand for me because their sardines does not contain any MSG compared to other brands.

You could take my advice or not, but seriously. Stan Lee is the man when it comes to comic book geekiness. So I would consider this a once in a lifetime experience not unless you have enough money to travel to foreign countries where Stan regularly have appearances in comic book conventions. As for me being primarily a DC guy, I might troll Stan Lee by having him autograph these items:

Wait what? Stan Lee wrote for DC Comics? Yep he did. But this is mostly forgotten. Of course I do have Marvel books in my collection. So I'm going to bring some too. Now here's hoping Stan actually arrives and I'd be able to save up enough money to afford the meet and greet session.

Excelsior!

P.S. That Stan Lee memoir is a comic book style memoir of Stan Lee that I got from National Bookstore last year. You guys might want to purchase one. It's a good book!
