Komikon 2015

KOMIKON 2015

So I attended my second comic book related event for the year and it seems my love for comic books is starting to grow once more. Before I got my action figure addiction, comic books was my first love. So when I heard about a comic con held here in the Philippines, I simply marked my calendar and gave it a go. When I reached there, I decided to take the two day pass because I guess one day is not enough for a huge comic book event such as this. Of course my highlight for this event is having my more than decades old Maskarado newspaper clippings signed by the writer/artist himself, Mr. Reno Maniquis. To date he has already released two Maskarado comic books this year and I bet he'll be releasing even more. This as a follow up to his Tempo newspaper strips that he started more than 20 years ago. Maskarado (Mask in english) is a Filipino Superhero in the veins of Green Lantern. Instead of a lantern powered ring, our hero acquires his extraordinary power by wearing a Mask. The Tempo newspaper strips hero is Carlo Miranda, while the newer Maskarado is Raymond Pacheco. Same concept with the Green Lantern where the ring is passed on to legacy Green Lanterns. To know more about Maskarado, check out Reno Maniquis blog here https://capsulezone.wordpress.com/maskarado/.
I also might write a separate entry about Maskarado when the time permits. I still need to read the two new Maskarado books that I've purchased online and might put up a review soon. But for the meantime check out how the hero looks like below as well some photos of the event and my comic book hauls:
