Mail day came and I was surprised by what came in the mail today. A huge box of goodies from Caltex? What could it be? When I took a peek at what's inside, I was surprised by the sight of mini boxes of Justice League toys. The package was sent by Nuff Nang in conjunction with Caltex's Justice League Collectible Car promo. And of course being a die-hard DC fanboy, I'm happy that I was able to secure a complete set of these toys. So I'm gonna be doing a review of this Justice League Collectible Cars to give you guys an idea what's in store for you when you gas up at Caltex and avail this promo. But before anything else, let me direct you to one of my favorite posts in this little blog of mine. My post about the Justice League movie which you can access here. So send me your thoughts about the movie. Would love to hear from you guys. Now on with the show.
The Toy Review
A complete set of these toy collectible consists of 6 characters plus one special limited edition character and a lunch box sized car carrying case which can be transformed into a Caltex Gas Station Diorama.
One cannot purchase a specific character as the toys comes in blind boxes. This has been the trend lately for collectible toys, which kind of reminds you back in the day when you buy those chips that comes with a surprise toy inside. While this could be frustrating sometimes, but I'm sure you'd find joy in the excitement of finding out which character you got on your purchase. This gives you the joy of the hunt.
When the box is opened, you'll find inside a black plastic bag that conceals the toy content. On my first try, I got Superman. Again, I got Superman! My favorite DC Superhero ever!

For size comparison, I photographed the Caltex collectible cars and figures besides a Batman McDonald's Happy Meal toy, A lightning McQueen toy from Tomica, and a Hot Wheels Batmobile. I think the cars are quite in scale with a standard Hot Wheels or Matchbox toy car.
The collector box is made of sturdy carton and plastic handles for easy transport and storage. The front design of the collector box shows an artwork of the Justice League which resemble the design of the toys.
The back art of the collector box on the other hand shows the complete assortment of the toys except the one last special edition character. So who could the seventh character be? Could it be Green Lantern? Or could it be the menacing Steppenwolf?
When the collector box is opened, it transforms into a mini diorama of a Caltex Gas Station complete with miniature Gas pumps and store signs which are made of acrylic plastic.
Setting up the toys and the diorama would give you a cute simulation of car traffic within a Caltex Gas Station. Of course this is not a surprise because cars gassing up on a Caltex Gas Station is a regular sight for us motorists who regularly refuel at our favorite Caltex Gas Stations.
When done playing and it's time to pack up, each parking slot for the toy car comes with a specific superhero insignia. I guess this was designed so that the heroes won't have to fight for parking spaces. After all, parking here in Metro Manila is a chore. And how many times have we seen motorists fighting over a parking slot!
There are also a couple of parking slots reserved for additional toy cars that you might purchase. Which in my case, I would be happy to get an additional Superman toy.
"Parked Car, this night sky, makes city lights shine like diamond, our song plays on the radio..."
Oops! Did I just sang a line of an Urbandub song there?
So the mechanics on how to avail these toy cars is shown on the pic above. You'll have three options on how to get the toy cars. Option one is thru redemption using 200 points from your Robinson's Rewards Card points for every P500 gas, no need for cash out. Option two is Gas up P500, 80 Robinson's Rewards points plus P150 pesos. While Option three is straight up P250 purchase for every 500 Gas up. The scheme is actually quite affordable, there's no reason for you not to buy these limited edition collectibles. Now let me leave you with some more photos for your better appreciation.
